Hello and welcome to the first official Foodies Friday post! The idea of Foodies Friday is pretty open to interpretation- it will either be a review of a local bar/ restaurant/ food place, or perhaps a recipe for something I’ve made :) Today is a review of Riverbar & Kitchen in Brisbane’s Eagle Stret Pier district! Although I’ve been to Riverbar for a nighttime function, I really wanted to try out their lunch specials and legendary cocktails- so last weekend C and I scoped it out! As you can probably guess by their name, Riverbar & Kitchen is right smack on the Brisbane River. It is nautical themed, and I just LOVE all the white-washed wood walls. There are big ropes wrapped around the beams, and oars attached to the ceilings. Every inch of space has been thoughtfully designed, and everywhere you look there is something interesting.
Good morning to my eleven followers! How exciting that someone other than my mother is interested in reading my blog! :-D
Today, I’m just going to do a short review on one of my favourite Mexican food eateries- Chidos Mexican Grill (locations in Tingalpa, Capalaba, Graceville, and Clontarf in QLD).
Growing up in the USA, we had Mexican food all the time, but this style of food is still quite new in Australia- especially for takeaway.
Chidos Mexican Grill is a casual dining/ takeaway style restaurant that prides itself fresh ingredients and friendly service. Their menu is constructed around ‘fillings’– you then choose how you would like the fillings presented (i.e., nachos, burrito, taco etc). As a vegetarian, I appreciate that Chidos offers a discount for veggie only meals, and also provides complimentary hand smashed guacamole! The prices are very reasonable, with a mini burrito (perfect lunch-sized portion) $8.90 – $9.90 (depending on filling). They also do some lunch + drink specials.
